MICKS MOVIE AND TV REVIEWS!!!!!!!!!

Love, Death & Robots - Seasons 1-3 (2019-2022) - Rating: (4/10) - Watched on 06/15/2023

love, death & robots is a collection of animated shorts of many different genres. i wasn't really a fan of this. this show was so boring and repetitive. there were so many 'soldiers/military vs. monster' shorts in there, which were the worst ones. i only liked around 4 or 5 shorts all through out the 3 seasons. i would say my favorite short was 'Jibaro'.

Limetown (2019) dir. Rebecca Thomas - Rating: (6/10) - Watched on 05/17/2023

limetown is a series, based off of a podcast of the same name, that follows lia haddock, a journalist for american public radio, who is working to unravel the mystery behind the disappearance of over 300 people at a research community in Tennessee. despite being forced to watch this and listen to the podcast in class, i thought it was decent. it has a cool concept, but i don't really like how its different from the podcast. the show goes into lia haddocks personal life more, and we learn more about her, while in the podcast shes kind've mysterious, but tv lia haddock and podcast lia haddock are very different, almost like they aren't even the same person. the series also got cancelled after 1 season, so the story never got finished :/

Gerry (2002) dir. Gus Van Sant - Rating: (5/10) - Watched on 05/06/2023

gerry follows two friends named gerry who become lost in the desert after taking a wrong turn, and their attempts to find their way home lead them into further trouble. i don't really have much to say about this movie... i found it to be visually stunning yet boring and pretentious at the same time.

American Honey (2016) dir. Andrea Arnold - Rating: (7/10) - Watched on 01/18/2023

american honey follows a girl named Star, who comes from a troubled home. Star runs away with a traveling sales crew who travel across the midwest selling magazines. I felt the runtime of this movie was a bit too long (its 163 minutes.. like damn). there were many scenes of them in the van driving, singing along to music and such that could've, and should've, been cut or made shorter. but besides the ridiculously long runtime, american honey has a good story and is visually stunning.

Zero Day (2002) dir. Ben Coccio - Rating: (3/10) - Watched on 01/12/2023

zero day is a found-footage movie that i think? is based off of the columbine shooting. this movie was pretty bad. the whole movie was extremely boring and insufferable. i don't really have much more to say about this movie as i skipped through like half of it because of how boring it was.

The Break-Up (2006) dir. Peyton Reed - Rating: (3/10) - Watched on 01/11/2023

This movie sucked. It's basically a comedy movie where the boyfriend (vince vaughn) treats his girlfriend (jennifer aniston) like shit and then they break up and continue to get mad at each other because they still live together or something like that. Very lame and will probably never watch again.
