THE ALL-ENCOMPASSING RESIDENT EVIL GAMES REVIEWS & RANKING !

so i've been really obsessed with resident evil for a few months now, and so far have played and/or finished around 25-26 of the games, so instead of making a seperate page for each game i'm putting them all in one :) (i'll be going in order of game release date rather than the date played)

RESIDENT EVIL 1 (1996)

The first entry in the best video-game franchise of all time!! I remember this one feeling a bit tedious at certain points, but thats probably because it was my first play through and i had a massive mansion to navigate.. which probably led to a lot of back tracking. One thing I remember really liking about this one was the shitty voice acting. The "Jill Sandwich" and "Master of Unlocking" lines were so silly I just love the campiness of it all. But yeah, its been a few months since i've played this one so i'm kinda blanking on it a little, def gonna replay it and update this lol. Overall rating: 7/10

RESIDENT EVIL 2 (1998)

Out of the first 3 resident evil games, this one was probably my least favorite. It wasn't bad though, I found it a bit underwhelming. I played as Leon on easy and it only took me 3 and a half hours to complete. I wasn't expecting it to be over that quick. Maybe it was the difficulty or if Leon and Claire each take around that amount of time to complete? I didn't play as Claire at all so I don't know. Overall rating: 6/10

RESIDENT EVIL 3 (1999)

Out of the first 3 games this one is def my favorite, with the introduction of one of my favorite characters, Carlos Oliveira, and the return of another one of my favorites, Jill Valentine. I found this one to be genuinely scary with how fast Nemesis is and how he will just appear out of nowhere. Something I found really cool and a bit unique about this game was being prompted to choose between two options when in a dangerous situation (for example, in an encounter with Nemesis you can either choose to fight him or run from him). This game also introduces a dodge mechanic to evade enemies but unfortunately this mechanic sucks as it's pretty difficult to successfully pull off. Overall rating: 9/10
